About Us
Suzani Khayati is a bridge between heritage and modernity.
Rooted in the traditions of Central Asia and handcrafted in Afghanistan, each piece reflects centuries of artistry, culture, and identity reimagined through a contemporary Parisian lens.
The name Suzani comes from the Persian word suzan, meaning “needle.”
More than a word, it represents a philosophy, patience, precision, and the quiet mastery of handwork. Suzani embroidery is an ancient art form, historically created by hand over months, sometimes years, each stitch carrying intention, symbolism, and story.
Our pieces are handmade by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This process is slow, deliberate, and human far from mass production. Every coat embodies craftsmanship, irregularity, and authenticity.
We are committed to ethical sourcing and responsible production. By working directly with artisans, we aim to support local economies, preserve cultural heritage, and create meaningful opportunities in a region where craftsmanship deserves recognition.
Designed in Paris, our collections reinterpret traditional Afghan silhouettes and materials for a modern wardrobe. Rich textures, natural materials, and bold structures meet clean lines and contemporary styling, bringing Central Asian heritage into a global, urban context.
Each piece is not just a garment.
It is a story, a legacy.
